Pain Waiver, check!

Kind of play on one of Dethklok's songs "Mermaider" from the DethAlbum.  Again, they're coming to town July 5th on the DethTour.  I can't wait!  As you can see, I've already filled out my pain waiver. 

For those not familiar with the band, they're on the show Metalocalypse that airs on Adult Swim.  As for their music, well... it's "DethMetal".  So there you have it.  "The album debuted at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 list, making it the highest charted death metal album to date." (Wikipedia)

Why the Pain Waiver?  It's because "the band members indirectly cause death and bad luck to those near them."  If you're wondering where the Pain Waiver originated from check out the clip from S01E01 titled "The Curse of Dethklok".  I've used this clip before in previous Dethklok posts so I'm sure some may recognize it (blog readers).
As an added bonus, the band recently opened a hospital for their concert survivors and even played a benefit show for them.  The band members informed the audience that the show wouldn't be great becuase they all had a cold and to not have high expectations when it came to the performance.  The song is titled "Pull the plug".

Holy SHYTE!!!!  Ok, I'm a proud owner of the Dethklok "Dethalbum"!  What else can I say?  It's BRUTAL!!!!!  The tracks sound so much better than the ones listed on the promo album (minus that annoying watermark of course).   I've been listening to the 2 disc album non-stop.  I'm about ("aboot" in Canadian) to slap those tracks on my iPod and hit "das gym".  It's going to be an intense workout tonight.  Damn, I can't say enough about this album...  Everything about it is "metal".

The guitar playing was crazy...  Of course you're going to get a laugh out of Mashed Potatoes Johnson making an appearance on the 2nd disc (Murdertrain a comin') with his (as Toki and Skwisgaar puts it) "grandspas guitars" for a blues solo.  "Hatredy" was given one hell of a remake, I almost didn't recognize it.  "Blood Ocean", badass, "Dethklok gets in tune" was pretty funny.  The "pickles intro" pretty funny too, it's metal for the ladies as Nathan takes a break for a sandwich.

It's one thing when you're listening to the promo album, but to hear this release, two totally different albums.  You can't help but throw those "metal" horns up in the air as you listen to "Murmaider", "Thunderhorse", "Go into the water", "Bloodtrocuted", "Fansong", "Briefcase full of guts", "Birthday Dethday", "Castratikron", "Hatredcopter", and "Dethharmonic" which are all my favs.  I've pretty much named all the tracks on the album, skipping a few because they have yet to grow on me.

You won't be able to get enough of this album once you listen to it for the first time.  Don't forget to watch the first episode of Season 2 of METALOCALYPSE on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network).  I watched the first episode all weekend which was crazy, they've definitely outdone themselves when it came to the show reaching new heights.

I can't wait until Dethklok hits the road to tour (once again, think Gorillaz).
