Two greatest NFL running backs

Barry Sanders and Walter Payton, the two best NFL running backs to date. Watch the video and you'll agree. The song is White Zombie's "More human than human", it only seems fitting to use that song. Both made their mark in NFL history and will always be remembered for their running styles and on-field achievements.

Barry retired early, walking away from the game when he was not even one full season from breaking Payton's NFL all-time rushing mark. As a fan, I remember where I was when news broke. Emmitt Smith eventually broke the mark, but it took another 3.5 years. Barry is the measuring mark for tailbacks to follow.

The two runningbacks (Emmitt and Barry) sat down and the question was asked about who out of the two was the better runningback. Emmitt jumped up and said that hands down, Barry was. I can agree. Yes, Emmitt is the rushing leader. Look at the fat hogs he had blocking for him. Not to mention the rest of the offense, their quarterback. They had a complete team. Barry didn't have what Emmitt did and he still ran circles around NFL defenses. You could take Stephen Hawking, put him in a jersey and he'd have the same numbers as Emmitt w/that type of offensive line. The offensive line for Detroit was plagued with injuries and still Barry could produce.

What a crazy first weekend of the 2007 college football season. The 1-AA/FCS Appalachian St. Mountaineers pull off arguably the greatest upset in NCAA football history (to date) by going into "The Big House" and stunning the #5 ranked Michigan Wolverines.

Appalachian State Miracle

The result was a victory for Appalachian State and the loss booted Michigan from the top 25 in BOTH polls. WOW!

That's a bit harsh isn't it?

FIVE-TIME NATIONAL FOOTBALL CHAMPS "Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."

The annual Red/White scrimmage at the University of Nebraska kicksoff at 12:30pm CST Saturday April 14th, 2007. This is the first chance that Husker Nation will be able to see some of the offseason recruits wear the scarlet and cream for the first time of the 2007 year until later in the fall when the regular season begins. Here are a few video clips I had taken while attending the 2005 Red/White scrimmage.

The first video are all the photos I had taken that day and just threw them together in a mini-vid with the Huskers fight song playing. Videos two and three are the fans at Memorial Stadium shortly before the Tunnel Walk and running of the team on to the field. The fourth video you'll see is a music video from Chevelle titled "The Red" highlighting the 2005 Alamo Bowl where Nebraska earned a come from behind victory over Michigan 32-28. The video theme is "Restore the Order" for the Alamo Bowl.
