Wow! This really brings back so many memories from my childhood. I wish that I could remember how many quarters (overall dollars) that I ended up spending on that game on the weekends. My parents used to drop me off at the arcade for a few hours and I'd blow the money they gave me with in the first 45 minutes. I wouldn't mind having this arcade classic in my living room (along with Dragon's Lair, Killer Instinct & a few other titles), but in the meantime I was able to download the Space Ace app for my iPhone 3GS.
What else can I say, but it's freaking SWEET! The game play is awesome, the animation, freaking AWESOME! I'm anxious for the release of Dragon's Lair to hit. I was better at Dragon's Lair than I was at Space Ace, but with this app on my iPhone now, I'll be ready for either arcade classic. I really dig the controls on the screen too. The character moves easily. I recommend purchasing the full version which will have more levels than the "lite" version which is just the first level.
I think any child of the 80's will appreciate this game for many hours, let's hope Apple solves (with another release of the OS) the battery life issue so we can cram more play time on this great game.
That is all....
Playing the ping pong app on my iPhone. Team U.S.A. is in the finals. After several attempts, I finally managed to make it past the 2nd round and into the finals. I lost to China, 12-10. Bummer. Oh well, I'll have to keep playing. Maybe I'll have to play some Def Leppard (Pour some sugar on me) in order to get into the zone? Bring on Christopher Walken!
Sent from my iPhone.
Looking forward to some early AM gameplay.

Whoa! This brings back a flood of memories trying to beat this game (which I did). It was one of the toughest games to beat on the NES at that time. I do miss playing the NES on occasion, I'd spend hours playing a game back then. Pay attention when the timer hits 1:32, watch the screen.
I still played the game even after I snagged the SNES and the followup game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I have the Legend of Zelda on my PC, but haven't played it. I think that I miss that old school controller. Oh well, I don't plan on trying to hunt down those original units on eBay anytime soon. I guess it's the PC for now.
I laughed loudly when Robot Chicken took on the Zelda series. Poor Link.
One of my favorite bands, System of a Down even paid tribute to this great game.
A few weeks ago while flipping through the channels on a Sunday afternoon, I caught "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" on G4 and actually watched it. It really wasn't bad at all for a documentary. I could give a review on this one, but chances are you (the reader) really wouldn't check the title out. So, I'm just using the documentary title and classic gaming subject to tie-in this video clip from Robot Chicken. It's called "Donkey Kong Meets Halo". Now where was this game when I was a kid? Shyte... I feel cheated. HA!
